- Pixfra™ Arc LRF A635 Pro Thermal Monocular w/Laser Rangefinder (640x512 12µm Detector/35mm Lens)
What are the detection range and image resolution capabilities of the Arc LRF A635 Pro?
The A635 Pro features a high-performance, ultra-sensitive 640×512 thermal sensor with a 12µm pixel pitch and a thermal sensitivity of ≤20mK NETD. Combined with its powerful 35mm f1.0 manual focus objective lens, it delivers a base magnification of 2.36x and can detect heat sources at an impressive distance of up to 1,800 meters. For closer identification, its recognition range is 1,100 meters, and its specific identification range is 700 meters.
How far can the integrated Laser Rangefinder (LRF) measure, and is it accurate?
The laser rangefinder is seamlessly built into the compact chassis of the monocular so it doesn’t add bulk or disrupt the device's balance. It is a Class 1 laser operating at a 905 nm wavelength, capable of measuring distances from a minimum of 10 meters up to a maximum of 1,000 meters. It provides instant distance data in the field with a high accuracy rating of ±1 meter.
What is the battery life, and can the batteries be replaced in the field?
Yes, the unit uses a replaceable, non-proprietary 18650 rechargeable battery (3,200 mAh capacity). It is designed with a secure, quick swap twist cap battery cover that makes changing the battery in the dark quick and easy. A single battery provides up to 6 to 7.5 hours of continuous operation (depending on external ambient temperatures and whether Wi-Fi/LRF are turned on). The retail package from Optics Warehouse typically includes two batteries, offering up to 12–15 hours of total observation time in the field.
Can I record video or share the live thermal view with other people?
Absolutely. The monocular comes with 32 GB of built in EMMC storage, allowing you to capture snapshots and record video (complete with built in audio recording). Additionally, it features a WiFi hotspot function. By pairing the monocular with the Pixfra Outdoor mobile app, you can share the live screen feed simultaneously with up to four other users within a 20 meter radius, meaning your hunting or observation group can see exactly what you are seeing without needing to pass the device around.
Is the Arc LRF A635 Pro rugged enough to handle bad weather?
Yes, the device is engineered for harsh outdoor environments. It features a lightweight but highly durable magnesium alloy bodyshell wrapped in a textured, rubberized non slip grip. It holds an IP67 weatherproof rating, which means it is completely protected against dust and can withstand being submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for half an hour. It operates seamlessly in extreme weather conditions, including heavy rain, snow, dense fog, and temperatures ranging from –30 °C up to +55 °C.
