- Pixfra™ Arc LRF A425 Pro Thermal Monocular w/Laser Rangefinder (384x288 12µm Detector/25mm Lens)
What is the maximum detection and laser rangefinder (LRF) distance for the Arc A425 Pro?
The A425 Pro offers two distinct measurement ranges depending on whether you are spotting heat signatures or measuring distances:
- Thermal Detection Range: It can detect large heat sources (such as a human or large game animal) up to 1,300 meters away, powered by its 25mm f1.0 lens and highly sensitive 384x288 thermal sensor.
- Laser Rangefinder (LRF) Range: The seamlessly integrated LRF can accurately measure the physical distance of a target up to 1,000 meters away with an impressive precision of ±1 meter.
How long does the battery last, and can I swap it in the field?
The monocular provides excellent battery longevity and field practicality. It has an operating life of up to 7.5 hours per charge (depending on environmental temperatures and whether high-drain features like WiFi or heavy LRF usage are active). Crucially, it uses a replaceable, non-proprietary 18650 Li-ion battery system. The device ships with two 18650 batteries and a dual charger, allowing you to use a quiet twist cap to quickly swap out a dead battery for a fresh one while out in the field.
Can I stream or share the thermal view with other people?
Yes. The Arc LRF A425 Pro features built in WiFi functionality that pairs with the Pixfra Outdoor mobile app. Through the app, you can wirelessly stream live footage from your monocular to up to four different smartphones or tablets simultaneously (within a 20-meter range). This is perfect for group hunting or wildlife observation trips, as everyone can view the environment without needing to pass the physical device around.
What color palettes and image enhancement modes does the device feature?
To suit different weather conditions, terrains, and environments, the A425 Pro comes equipped with 6 distinct color palettes: White Hot, Black Hot, Iron Red, Alarm, Amber, and Emerald. Additionally, it utilizes the PIPS 2.0 (Pixfra Image Processing System) software, which automatically minimizes environmental noise, sharpens contrast, and clarifies fine anatomical details. It also features a Picture in Picture (PiP) mode to see a zoomed in target while maintaining a wide field of view, and a Hot Spot Trace mode to automatically track the highest temperature in the frame.
Is the monocular durable enough to handle heavy rain or accidental drops?
Yes, it is built for rugged outdoor environments. The core body shell is constructed from a lightweight but highly durable magnesium alloy designed to withstand everyday bumps and rough handling. It boasts an IP67 weather-resistance rating, meaning it is fully sealed against dust ingress and can be exposed to heavy rain, dense fog, snow, high humidity, or even temporary immersion in water without sustaining damage.
