- Pixfra™ Pegasus P650 Pro Thermal Weapon Sight (640x512 12µm Detector/50mm Lens)
What is the "PIPS 2.0" image system, and how does it benefit my hunt?
PIPS 2.0 (Pixfra Image Processing Software) is a proprietary algorithm that dynamically cleans up the thermal picture in real-time. It minimizes environmental "noise" (like fog, mist, or atmospheric haze), boosts edge contrast, and eliminates image lag. Combined with the device's sub 18mK thermal sensitivity, it ensures you can distinctly see fine details like animal fur texture or precise target positioning even in poor weather.
How does the Recoil Activated Recording (RAR) feature work?
The Pegasus P650 Pro features a built in sensor that automatically detects the physical kickback of a shot. When Recoil Activated Recording is enabled, the device continuously buffers footage and saves video (complete with audio) starting seconds before you pull the trigger through to a short period after the shot. This saves you from having to manually press "record" during high stress scenarios and preserves your hunt automatically onto the 64GB internal storage.
Can I use this thermal scope during the daytime, and will bright sunlight damage it?
Yes, you can use it safely in broad daylight. Unlike traditional night vision devices that utilize image intensifier tubes which can burn out under bright light, thermal imaging relies entirely on infrared heat signatures. Direct sunlight will not damage the sensor, though it is still advised to avoid staring directly at the sun to protect the internal components.
What is the battery configuration, and can I swap batteries in the field?
The scope runs on a hybrid power system. It features a heavy-duty 6400mAh internal rechargeable lithium battery configuration that handles the bulk of the power. Additionally, it features an external bay that accommodates a replaceable CR123A battery. This dual setup allows you to continuously run the device for up to 11-14 hours (depending on settings and temperature) and swap out the external battery on the go without powering down the device.
What options do I have for custom viewing layouts and reticles?
The P650 Pro gives you extensive customizability through its OLED display. It provides 6 different color palettes (including White Hot, Black Hot, Iron Red, Alarm, Emerald, and Amber) to best match your terrain and lighting conditions. It also features multiple digital zoom options (1x to 8x), Picture in Picture (PiP) mode to keep an eye on your wider surroundings while zooming in on a target, and a choice of multiple reticle patterns and color configurations.
Can I stream or transfer video footage directly to my smartphone?
Yes. The scope features a built in WiFi hotspot module. By connecting your smartphone or tablet to the scope's WiFi network and using the official mobile app, you can stream a live view from the scope, tweak system settings, and download saved photos or videos directly to your phone for quick sharing.
