The SMR (Scandinavian Match Reticles) reticles are made for shooters by shooters. All SMR reticles are designed to be clean and simple without any unnecessary distractions but remain functional, versatile and efficient.
The SMR-1 is a holdover reticle made to fit the needs of long-range, field and PRS-style shooters, however, due to the illuminated centre, the reticle is also ideal for low-light hunting.
The reticle features options such as an open-top, a floating centre dot, 0.2 mil hash marks and an integrated free-floating ruler with 0.1 mil hash marks for easier target measurement.

The holdover ”Christmas tree” has 0.2 hash marks for distance and windage hold, the numbers for mil holdover are placed 1.2 mil on the right from the center to be easily spotted when counting holdover, but still far enough not to cover the target at the most critical parts of the reticle.

What type of shooter is this scope designed for?
This scope is aimed at long-range and precision shooters — including PRS, target shooting, and long-range hunting — who need accurate dialing, holdovers and high magnification.
Is this too much scope for normal UK shooting distances?
Not at all. The 4.5× low end works well for closer-range shots, while the 30× top end gives plenty of detail for longer-range targets or small varmints.
What does First Focal Plane actually mean for me?
It means the reticle always stays in scale, so your holdover and wind marks are accurate at any magnification — ideal for long-range and practical shooting.
Do I need to dial or can I just hold over?
You can do either. The turrets are designed for precise dialing, and the reticle has clear mil markings for holding elevation and wind when shooting faster.
Is the reticle too busy?
No. The SMR-1 reticle is designed to be clean and easy to read, with enough markings for precision work without cluttering the sight picture.
Is the scope heavy?
It is on the heavier side, which is normal for a professional-grade long-range optic. The extra weight helps with stability and durability.
Is the zero-stop easy to use?
Yes. Once set, you can always dial back down to your zero without looking, which is a big advantage when shooting quickly or in low light.
Can I accidentally knock the turrets?
Unlikely. The turrets are lockable, which helps prevent losing your zero while carrying the rifle.
Will I need special mounts?
You’ll need 34mm scope rings or a 34mm monomount. We hold stock of a number of 34mm moutning solutions for these optics.

We use DPD , RoyalMail, TNT and UPS courier services for all our orders whether dispatching to the UK or International. As soon as your order has been dispatched you will receive an email with your unique tracking number. We are unable to add delivery notes to your order regarding safe spaces or neighbour deliveries. If you require this service it can be arranged directly with the courier once the parcel is in their network.
IN-STORE ITEMS
These are items that we have in-stock and will be sent out for delivery as soon as possible. We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days, but during busy periods dispatch may be delayed by a day or so. PRE-ORDER ITEMS
These are usually items that are going to be out-of-stock for a number of weeks or are in short supply. By purchasing a Pre-Order Item you are in effect paying a deposit for your goods. As soon as the item is back in stock yours will be dispatched within 24 hours where possible. Please see individual product pages for current back-in-stock dates. In rare occasions, these dates can be changed by the manufacturers so we recommend staying in contact with Optics Warehouse depending on the product lead time.
INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY & TAXES
In addition to the above information If your delivery address is outside of the UK you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. You should note that customs policies vary widely from country to country. Optics Warehouse advises each customer to contact their local customs office for further information if they are in any way unsure of local duties or liabilities. Cross border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities which means some packages may be opened and re-sealed.
