Does this scale require batteries to operate?
No. This is a mechanical (analog) scale that uses a spring tension system. It does not require batteries or electronic power, making it a reliable tool for your range bag or workbench without worrying about electronics failing.
How do I know the exact weight once the trigger breaks?
The scale features a sliding indicator (a small marker on the scale) that is pushed by the main spring as you pull. When the trigger breaks and the tension is released, the indicator stays at the highest point reached, allowing you to record the measurement easily.

How can I ensure I am getting an accurate reading?
For the most consistent results, always place the hook at the same spot on the trigger (usually the center of the curve). Ensure you are pulling the scale straight back, parallel to the barrel, to avoid adding artificial friction or leverage that could skew the weight.
Is there a way to reset the scale between pulls?
Yes. After taking a reading, simply slide the indicator marker back down to the "0" or starting position manually before your next test pull.
What should I do if my trigger weight is higher than 8 pounds?
This specific model is calibrated for a maximum of 8 pounds. If you attempt to measure a trigger heavier than this, the indicator will simply stop at the 8 lb mark, and over tensioning the internal spring could potentially damage the calibration. For heavy factory double action triggers, you may need a scale with a higher capacity.
