Wheeler Scope Mounting Kit for 1 inch & 30mm Scopes

Why should I lap my scope rings using this kit?

Lapping ensures that the interior of your scope rings is perfectly circular and aligned. This increases the surface area contact between the rings and the scope tube, which prevents the scope from slipping under recoil and protects the tube from getting marred or "crimped" by uneven pressure.

How do the alignment bars work?

The kit includes two pointed bars (one set for 1" and one for 30mm). By placing them in your mounted rings so the points face each other, you can visually confirm if your rings are perfectly centered. If the points don't meet exactly, it indicates your rings are misaligned and  may need adjustment or lapping.

Does the F.A.T. Wrench prevent me from damaging my scope?

Yes. Most scope manufacturers provide specific inch-pound torque ratings for their mounting screws. The F.A.T. (Firearm Accurizing Torque) Wrench allows you to apply the exact amount of pressure required, ensuring the scope is secure without over-tightening, which can crush the tube or snap screw heads.

Are there empty slots in the carry case?

You may notice two empty spots in the molded foam. These are designed to hold the Wheeler Professional Reticle Leveling System (sold separately), allowing you to consolidate all your precision mounting tools into one organized case.

Can I use this kit for 34mm scope rings?

No. This specific combo kit includes the bars and tools specifically sized for 1 inch and 30mm tubes. If you are mounting a 34mm scope, you would need to purchase the 34mm lapping and alignment components separately or look into the Wheeler Ultra Scope Mounting Kit.

How do I know when I have "lapped" enough?

Generally, you are looking for about 60% to 80% surface contact. As you lap, the finish inside the rings will wear away; once you see a consistent matte-silver finish across the majority of the bottom ring surface, you have achieved proper alignment.

Do I need to buy a separate leveling tool?

The kit includes basic bubble levels to help level your rifle and reticle. While these are effective for standard setups, many precision shooters pair this kit with a dedicated leveling system to ensure the vertical crosshair is perfectly perpendicular to the rifle's bore.

COURIERS

We use DPD , RoyalMail, TNT  and UPS courier services for all our orders whether dispatching to the UK or International. As soon as your order has been dispatched you will receive an email with your unique tracking number. We are unable to add delivery notes to your order regarding safe spaces or neighbour deliveries. If you require this service it can be arranged directly with the courier once the parcel is in their network.

IN-STORE ITEMS

These are items that we have in-stock and will be sent out for delivery as soon as possible. We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days, but during busy periods dispatch may be delayed by a day or so. PRE-ORDER ITEMS

These are usually items that are going to be out-of-stock for a number of weeks or are in short supply. By purchasing a Pre-Order Item you are in effect paying a deposit for your goods. As soon as the item is back in stock yours will be dispatched within 24 hours where possible. Please see individual product pages for current back-in-stock dates. In rare occasions, these dates can be changed by the manufacturers so we recommend staying in contact with Optics Warehouse depending on the product lead time.

INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY & TAXES

In addition to the above information If your delivery address is outside of the UK you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. You should note that customs policies vary widely from country to country. Optics Warehouse advises each customer to contact their local customs office for further information if they are in any way unsure of local duties or liabilities. Cross border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities which means some packages may be opened and re-sealed.

• Please be advised that we have now introduced DPD Pins to all DPD orders from Optics Warehouse.
• If your shipment is being sent from Optics Warehouse via DPD you will be sent a Pin Code that must be shown to the courier upon delivery.
