Spuhr ISMS QDP-4602 Ø34mm Tube 6 MIL (38 mm High) Quick Detach Picatinny Scope Mount
"This is a true long-range specialist’s mount. With built-in 20 MOA of elevation, it gives you the extra adjustment needed to push modern high-magnification optics to extreme distances. The 38mm height pairs perfectly with large-objective 34mm scopes and modern chassis systems, while Spuhr’s QDP system ensures repeatable zero even when removing the optic for transport or thermal clip-ons. If you shoot PRS, ELR, or long-range steel, this mount belongs on your rifle." - Thomas (Online Sales Associate & Product Specialist).
The Spuhr ISMS (Ideal Scope Mount System) is a high-performance mounting solution engineered for shooters who demand unmatched stability, precision, and modular versatility. Its single-piece, billet-machined aluminium construction provides exceptional rigidity, virtually eliminating flex under recoil and ensuring repeatable zero for long-range, tactical, and competition applications.
The system’s diagonally split rings give unobstructed access to elevation and windage turrets, allowing fast and precise adjustments without interference. An integrated levelling system and alignment wedge ensure the optic is perfectly level during setup, critical for extreme-range accuracy and consistent shot placement.
Multiple interface points along the mount allow secure attachment of a wide range of accessories, from lasers and rangefinders to backup optics and night-vision devices, without affecting rifle balance or ergonomics. Machined from aerospace-grade aluminium and finished with hard-anodised coating, the ISMS offers exceptional durability, corrosion resistance, and mechanical integrity under heavy recoil and field conditions.
With its combination of precision machining, modular functionality, and rock-solid strength, the Spuhr ISMS is designed to elevate any rifle platform, providing a foundation for accurate, repeatable, and adaptable long-range performance.

Why is 20 MOA particularly valuable on a 34 mm QDP mount?
Large-tube scopes are often used for extreme long-range shooting. The built-in 20 MOA shifts the optic downward so more of the scope’s internal elevation remains available for dialing at long distances without pushing the erector to its limits.
How does the cant affect optical tracking accuracy?
By keeping the erector closer to its mechanical center, the scope tracks more linearly and consistently, which improves ballistic repeatability when dialing up and back down over large elevation ranges.
Does the angled base make zeroing more sensitive?
It requires careful leveling during installation, but once properly aligned it actually improves zero stability because the scope is not operating at the edge of its adjustment range.
How does the 38 mm height complement the 20 MOA cant?
The additional height provides clearance for large objective lenses and clip-on devices while keeping the shooter’s head position comfortable on modern long-range chassis systems.
Why is the QDP interface important on a canted mount?
On angled mounts, even small shifts can produce noticeable point-of-impact changes at long range. The QDP system ensures the mount returns to exactly the same rail interface every time it is reattached.
How does the 34 mm tube diameter improve rigidity on this model?
The larger ring diameter increases the contact area between mount and scope tube, reducing micro-slippage and improving resistance to torsional loads under recoil.
Is this mount suitable for extremely heavy optics?
Yes. The wide ring spacing and one-piece body distribute the optic’s mass evenly, preventing sag or tube flex that could otherwise affect zero.
How does this mount perform on magnum calibers?
The recoil lug and cam-locked Picatinny engagement prevent forward or rearward movement even under sharp recoil impulses typical of magnum cartridges.
Can this mount be paired with night-vision or thermal clip-ons?
Yes. The rigid alignment and repeatable zero are ideal for inline devices that require consistent optical axis positioning.
Is the QDP-4602 suitable for competition shooting?
Yes. Long-range competitors value the built-in cant and quick-detach repeatability for switching optics or transporting rifles without losing zero.
Does the added cant increase stress on the scope?
No. The cant is in the mount, not the tube. The scope remains straight and evenly clamped, so there is no bending force applied to the optic body.
Why would someone choose this over a flat 34 mm QDP mount?
Shooters who regularly engage targets at extreme distances benefit from the extra mechanical elevation and improved tracking that the 20 MOA version provides.

Please note: All clearance calculations are based on mounts with 0 MOA. While MOA can be factored in, actual clearance may vary due to variables that can't always be accurately calculated. If you're considering an MOA mount and are unsure about the required height, we recommend contacting our sales team directly.
Measure the outermost diameter of your scope’s objective bell (including any flare).
Measure the thickness of any scope cover if used. If none, leave as 0.
Measure from the top of the rail to the highest point of the barrel.
We add a little extra clearance to account for real-world variation. Default is +1 mm.
Enter your measurements above to calculate the lowest ring height (base-to-centre) you can realistically use.
(A + 2×B) / 2 − C + TWhere A = objective outer diameter, B = cover thickness, C = rail-to-barrel clearance, T = tolerance.
