Pulsar MERGER LRF XT50 Thermal Binoculars - 50mm <40mK 1280x1024px 12um
The Pulsar Merger LRF XT50 is about as premium as handheld thermal binoculars get right now—huge 1280×1024 HD thermal sensor, ultra-sensitive <40mK NETD, and a fast 50Hz refresh that delivers a seriously clean, stable image even at distance. The dual-eyepiece design makes long scanning sessions way more comfortable than monoculars, and the built-in image stabilisation helps keep everything steady when you’re tracking movement or zoomed in tight. Add a laser rangefinder, 50mm F1.0 lens, and detection out to roughly 2300m, and it’s basically a full long-range observation system in binocular form.

1. What resolution does it use?
It uses a high-end 1280×1024 thermal sensor with 12µm pixel pitch for very detailed imaging compared to standard 384 or 640 units.
2. How sensitive is the thermal sensor?
It has a NETD of under 40mK, with system sensitivity even lower (around <20mK effective), helping it pick up small heat differences in difficult conditions.
3. What is the detection range?
It can detect heat signatures out to approximately 2300 metres depending on target size and environmental conditions.
4. Does it have a laser rangefinder?
Yes, it includes a built-in precision laser rangefinder with a range up to about 1500m and ±1m accuracy.
5. What magnification does it offer?
It provides 2–16x magnification, and still retains strong detail across the zoom range thanks to the high-resolution sensor.
6. Why use binocular design instead of monocular?
Binocular viewing reduces eye strain and makes long observation sessions significantly more comfortable and stable for tracking targets over time.
7. Does it have image stabilisation?
Yes, it includes built-in image stabilisation to reduce shake and blur when zoomed in or tracking movement.
8. What display does it use?
It uses dual 1280×960 AMOLED HD displays for sharp, high-contrast viewing with less eye fatigue.
9. How long does the battery last?
Up to around 8 hours using a dual battery system (internal + APS3 external battery).
10. What’s the main advantage of the XT50 over lower Merger models?
The jump to a 1280×1024 sensor gives noticeably better fine detail, especially for identifying partially obscured targets or distant movement, plus stabilisation adds real usability improvements in the field.
