1. What makes Formula X different from standard gun oils?

Formula X isn’t just a lubricant; it’s a high-performance cleaner and protector in one. It uses Napier’s VP90 technology, which creates a "vapour phase" barrier. This means it doesn't just sit on the surface but actively protects any area where air can reach, making it more effective at preventing rust than basic oils.

2. Can I use this on things other than firearms?

Yes! While it is a favorite for shotguns and rifles, Formula X is incredibly versatile. It is commonly used to maintain garden equipment, marine engines, fishing gear, bicycles, and even seized hand tools or power tools.

3. How does the "refill system" work between the 125ml and 750ml cans?

This is one of the most popular features. You can buy the giant 750ml workshop can and use it to refill the smaller 125ml "pocket" spray. By using a GA Connector (sold separately), you link the two cans together to transfer the fluid, ensuring you always have a portable spray for the field without buying multiple small cans.

4. Is it safe to use on my gun's wood or synthetic stock?

Formula X is designed to be safe for firearms and typically won’t damage high-quality oil or urethane stock finishes. However, as with any solvent based cleaner, it is always best practice to wipe away any excess that drips onto non-metal surfaces.

5. Does it help with "stuck" parts?

Absolutely. Because it contains powerful solvents and has high penetration properties, it is ideal for loosening locked or seized parts, such as stubborn bolts, pins, or rusted screws.

6. Do I need to scrub the gun after spraying?

For light maintenance, Formula X is designed to "blast away" grime and dirt on contact. For heavy carbon buildup, you should spray the area, let it sit for a few moments to penetrate the fouling, and then wipe clean. It leaves behind a thin, protective film, so you don't necessarily need to apply a separate oil afterward.

7. Can I spray this upside down?

Yes. The aerosol is designed with a 360° valve system, allowing you to spray at any angle even completely upside down to reach awkward areas like deep inside a chassis or receiver.

8. Will it leave a greasy or sticky residue?

No. Formula X is formulated to leave a "dense but fine" film. Unlike some heavy greases that attract dust and grit, this leaves a clean protective layer that stays effective in damp or humid conditions without becoming a "dirt magnet."

COURIERS

We use DPD , RoyalMail, TNT  and UPS courier services for all our orders whether dispatching to the UK or International. As soon as your order has been dispatched you will receive an email with your unique tracking number. We are unable to add delivery notes to your order regarding safe spaces or neighbour deliveries. If you require this service it can be arranged directly with the courier once the parcel is in their network.

IN-STORE ITEMS

These are items that we have in-stock and will be sent out for delivery as soon as possible. We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days, but during busy periods dispatch may be delayed by a day or so. PRE-ORDER ITEMS

These are usually items that are going to be out-of-stock for a number of weeks or are in short supply. By purchasing a Pre-Order Item you are in effect paying a deposit for your goods. As soon as the item is back in stock yours will be dispatched within 24 hours where possible. Please see individual product pages for current back-in-stock dates. In rare occasions, these dates can be changed by the manufacturers so we recommend staying in contact with Optics Warehouse depending on the product lead time.

INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY & TAXES

In addition to the above information If your delivery address is outside of the UK you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. You should note that customs policies vary widely from country to country. Optics Warehouse advises each customer to contact their local customs office for further information if they are in any way unsure of local duties or liabilities. Cross border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities which means some packages may be opened and re-sealed.

• Please be advised that we have now introduced DPD Pins to all DPD orders from Optics Warehouse.
• If your shipment is being sent from Optics Warehouse via DPD you will be sent a Pin Code that must be shown to the courier upon delivery.
• The pincode is sent VIA email & TEXT message. A valid email address and mobile number must be provided at checkout. Emails will be sent from "Riviera House 3PL" - if you do not receive this email please check your junk or spam folders.
