How many clicks per turret rotation does this Nexus Gen 2 scope provide, and what is the total correction per revolution?
This scope uses a turret system with 1/4 MOA clicks, giving 20 MOA per full revolution, which allows detailed point-of-impact adjustments and keeps the scale compact and usable.
What is the total elevation and windage adjustment range?
The elevation adjustment range is around 100 MOA and windage around 40 MOA, providing a generous span for long-range engagements and compensation for significant ballistic drop or cross-wind.
Why is the 4–25× magnification range considered useful for precision shooting?
A wide 4–25× zoom offers low-power agility for target acquisition and situational awareness, while high power supports fine detail resolution and precise aiming at extended distances.
What is the advantage of having a first focal plane (FFP) reticle?
An FFP reticle means the subtensions scale with magnification, so all holdover, windage, and range marks remain accurate regardless of power setting — essential for dynamic shooting and consistent ballistic references.
What is the purpose of the APR‑2D MOA reticle layout?
The APR‑2D MOA reticle features extended “Christmas tree” style markers with a fine centre dot and calibrated hold points, enabling both quick holdovers and precise ballistic compensation without excessive turret dialing.
How does the tool-free mechanical zero stop work and why is it important?
A mechanical zero stop lets you set and return to your established zero without tools. This is crucial in long-range or tactical scenarios where you might dial elevation for multiple targets and need a reliable way back to baseline.
What kind of illumination system does this scope use?
The reticle illumination is activated via a push-button, offering multiple brightness levels so the reticle remains visible against bright sky or low light without washing out the sight picture.
How does the push-button digital illumination differ from simpler illuminated reticles?
Digital illumination allows precise, repeatable brightness settings, and the reticle can be easily adjusted on the fly, making it responsive to rapidly changing light conditions during dawn, dusk, or shaded environments.
What optical coating technologies does the Nexus Gen 2 use?
Advanced fully multi-coated lenses with an anti-fouling layer improve light transmission, enhance contrast, and help shed water, oil, and dirt for a clearer view in real-world conditions.
How does the 50 mm objective lens influence low-light performance?
The large objective gathers more light than smaller designs, boosting brightness and image clarity at high magnification and low-light scenarios such as dawn, dusk, or shaded terrain.
How robust is the build quality and environmental sealing?
The Nexus Gen 2 is waterproof, fogproof, shockproof, and nitrogen-purged, designed to hold zero and maintain function under harsh field conditions including moisture, temperature swings, and recoil.
What is the field of view at minimum and maximum magnification?
At 4× the field of view is wide for quick target acquisition and situational awareness, and at 25× it tightens to focus on distant detail with high clarity.
What discipline is this optic best suited to?
With its high magnification, intricate FFP reticle, and wide adjustment ranges, this scope is particularly suited to long-range precision, competitive shooting, and tactical rifle disciplines that demand accurate holdovers and range compensation.
How should users interpret turret clicks in terms of real-world distance?
Each 1/4 MOA click corresponds to approximately 1/4 inch at 100 yds, so counting clicks lets you directly convert turret adjustments into real adjustments for drop and wind drift at various distances.
How important is the revolution indicator on the elevation turret?
A revolution indicator lets you see how many full 20 MOA turns have been made, preventing confusion when dialling large corrections and helping you keep track of overall elevation input.
What is the exit pupil size range, and why does it matter?
The exit pupil ranges from approximately 7.1 mm at 4× to about 2.0 mm at 25×, so in low light conditions you’ll want to balance magnification with usable exit pupil for image brightness and comfort.
How does the Nexus Gen 2 compare to simpler FFP scopes?
This model’s combination of advanced illumination, fully multi-coated optics, wide zoom, and tactical turret design elevates it over basic FFP scopes by offering enhanced clarity, more adjustment flexibility, and features aimed at precision disciplines.
