The Caldwell Lead Sled 3 Shooting Rest is basically the “standard” heavy-duty recoil-reducing bench rest for sighting in rifles and testing ammo without getting hammered by recoil. It uses a solid steel frame with a front rest and rear cradle, plus a weighted tray system that can hold sandbags, barbell plates, or up to about 100 lb of weight, which anchors the whole setup down. The big selling point is that it can reduce felt recoil by up to 95%, making it much easier to stay on target and spot impacts, especially with larger calibres. It also has fingertip elevation adjustment up front and a rear adjustment system, so you can fine-tune your point of aim without lifting the rifle off the rest. The stock and scope contact points are padded to avoid damage, and it’s really built for bench use rather than anything portable or field-friendly.

The Caldwell Lead Sled 3 has become the standard in weight reduction shooting rests. The Lead Sled 3 reduces recoil by up to 95% while securely holding your gun on target. The new Skeletonized front rest secures your gun with its non-marring surfaces.

The Improved rear buttstock cradle uses top of the line Shock Eliminator Technology and has non-marring cradle to keep your gun in place.
