- Tom Bristow (OPW Sales Team Member)
Rangefinders have been used in field sports for years – with Bushnell being the first to release a commercially available LRF unit, dedicated to the shooting fraternity, in the early 90’s.
Since then, the benefits of owning a rangefinder have been exploited by shooters globally. These handheld devices combine advanced optics and laser technology to accurately measure the distance between the unit itself and a chosen target, providing crucial data that can significantly enhance shooting performance. OPW Pro Team Member Lloyd Marshall takes to Ashcombe Shooting Ground with great success!
On December 31st 2022, OPW Pro Team Member Lloyd Marshall took to Ashcombe Shooting ground for the last 100 target registered sporting shoot. Read his blog below and see how he got on…
“Driving on the way to Ashcombe from home I was doubting why I was on my way there, the weather was awful, heavy rain and fairly windy. However, I thought to myself that not every competition day is going to be perfect and if the weather is bad for me then it was going to bad for everyone else competing too.
There were 12 stands in total, 10 stands of 4 pairs and 2 stands of 5 pairs, equalling 100 targets.
I missed 7 targets out of 100 finishing on 93 out of 100. Which took "high gun".

With over 60 shooters attending from across the country, the event proved to be a huge success for Northern Monkeys.

We've shared our thoughts on which Scope to go for out of the IOR Terminator and the Delta Stryker when shooting 25-100yds Benchrest.
[WORDS: Shaun Ellis, OPW Director]

RETICLES
The IOR's MOA SHX-1 reticle, in comparison to both the DLS-2 and DLS-3 reticles of the Delta Stryker, is heavier (not fine) and is designed for use on weighty backgrounds, rather than paper.
There is however no reason why it would not work but with the SHX-1 reticle, there is more going on when compared to the two reticles on the Delta.
One great benefit of the IOR's reticle, albeit not necessarily required for Benchrest, is the fact that it subtends correctly at 1/2 MRAD, MOA and 1/2 MOA when at different

The WHFTA British Open is back!
...And we are delighted to announce that Optics Warehouse is sponsoring this fantastic event!
[Words: Kieran Turner, Team WHFTA Organiser]

So obviously not to be undeterred, we decided to make something happen! This gave rise to the WHFTA 2021 British Open.
