Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 LRF 640x480 12um 40mk Thermal Imaging Handheld Monocular
Please Note: The Axion 2 does NOT come with a battery dock charger.
Brand new to the Pulsar Axion range of products is the new laser rangefinding Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 LRF. The Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 LRF thermal monocular features a 1750m detection range of a heat source of 1.8m in size and is integrated laser rangefinder that accurately range finds targets out to 1000m with +/- 1m of accuracy.
The thermal signature is processed through the highly sensitive and world renowned European made Lynred thermal sensor. It can achieve this impressive range thanks to its F35 1.0 Lens and 12um pixel pitch thermal sensor. Previously known as ULIS, Lynred produces some of the best thermal sensors on the market hand picking and guaranteeing to Pulsar that every unit will be <40mK you can rest assured that you are getting one of the highest quality thermal monoculars on the market.
The combination of the highly sensitive Lynred sensor with a 12um pixel pitch will offer a good useable base magnification to help with identification and provide a superb image under difficult observation conditions such as rain, fog or in a high atmospheric humidity site. These low contrast environments play havoc usually with thermal imagers due to thermal sensitivity of the units not being enough. However thanks to its 40 mK you will get some of the best performance possible through the Pulsar Axion XG35 in these conditions allowing the unit paint the picture of the scene very well aswell as keeping the clarity and resolution of the heat source.
The Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 640x480 thermal monocular not only features a brand new sensor that greatly improves image quality but Pulsars in house technical development team have helped enhance the ultimate image you see via drastically improving image processing algorithms. They have taken the knowledge they have learnt from years of producing thermal monoculars and added a new approach to image optimisation which takes into account the purposes for that day or nights use and what the environmental conditions actually are. By taken both of these things into account they have managed to provide high quality rendering of not only the target but the environment which has also been improved thanks to the sub 40mK NETD.
The Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 640x480 provides the user with three levels of signal amplification in combination with a system smoothing filter which includes a fine brightness and contrast adjustments. This allows the user the perfect ability and opportunity to use this Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 for long distance target detection in multiple types of weather and temperature conditions allowing for better identification of the heat source and the environment. The variable magnification range of the Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 is 2.5-20x this means the unit has a base optical magnification of 2.5x and a digital magnification of 8x, this digital zoom can either be in a continiuous motion which is optimised for a customised FOV or by 2x increments.
8 colour palettes are visible to the user on the new AMOLED display which features a high contrast VGA resolition which give enhanced colour rendering and helps provide a clear and smooth picture while on the move. It is important to experiment with the colour pallette choices of the Pulsar Axion XG35 because each pallette has its pros and cons which help with specific tasks and everchanging environemental and observation conditions. For instance for object detection you should use White hot, Black hot and Red hot whereas Rainbow and Ultramarine are most effective for object recognition and identification.
When it comes to size and construction the Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 is one of the most compact units on the market, this pocket size Thermal monocular is really no bigger then a conventional laser range monocular yet with the performance that will blow your mind. Each Pulsar Axion XG35 comes in a super high quality reinforced magnesium and alloy house which is designed for hard continuous use. The magnesium housing keeps the unit light but ensures it is extremely strong at the same time. The well designed chassis ensures all the vital internal components of the Pulsar Axion XG35 to remain product even after shocks, drops or when exposed to moisture or hot and cold. Another benefit of a metal housing that is often overlooked is the fact housing will help remove heat from the electronics which minimizes image nouse and increases the consistency of the Pulsar Axion XG35 640x480 monocular especially when using the device over a long observation time.
As the years pass technology and components improve and Pulsar have ensured with the Axion XG35 that it has kept up with the times. The Pulsar Axion XG now comes with a high capacity Pulsar APS5 rechargeable battery that will provide 11 hours of continuous use even off a single charge. Making this one of the longest battery capacities of any thermal monocular on the market. Even when the battery eventually does run down, it can be easily removed from the battery housing and replaced with a new one in a split second. The Pulsar APS5 battery is charged in a unique charger (not included) or can be charged inside the device from either attaching to a PC, household power system via a USB-C plug system or power bank via a USB-C cable. If you wish to power the thermal from an external power supply you can follow the same method.
One component of the device that has seen a great improvement when you look back at the previous Axion housing and component list is the new fast aperture lens system. The Pulsar Axion XG35 features a F35 1.0 Germanium lens which means the 640x480 thermal sensor of the Pulsar Axion XG35 will now have a greater ability to receive as much thermal information through its front lens which ultimately helps provide the user with a better image and ability to identify their target. This new F35 1.0 lens features high infrared transmission in the LWIR range. Due to all the high quality components that Pulsar have chosen the ultimate image generated by the Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 is one full of clarity and detail.
