Vector Optics 30mm Steel Flip to Side Picatinny Ring
The Vector Optics 30mm Steel Flip-to-Side Picatinny Ring is basically a heavy-duty magnifier mount that lets you swing your optic out of the way instantly when you don’t need it. It’s built from full steel with a rock-solid clamp system, so it’s more about durability and repeatability than lightweight finesse. Simple idea, tough execution—flip it in when you need magnification, flip it out when you don’t, no re-zero drama.

1. What is this mount used for?
It’s mainly used for magnifiers or secondary optics that need to flip to the side when not in use.
2. What tube size does it fit?
It fits 30mm diameter optics.
3. Is it compatible with Picatinny rails?
Yes, it mounts directly to standard Picatinny rails.
4. What is it made of?
It’s made from full steel construction for maximum strength and recoil resistance.
5. How does the flip-to-side mechanism work?
It rotates the optic 90° to the side so your primary sight line is clear, then locks back into place when needed.
6. Does it hold zero when flipped back?
Yes, it’s designed for repeatable positioning so your optic returns to the same alignment.
7. Is it heavy compared to aluminum mounts?
Yes, steel makes it noticeably heavier, but also much more robust.
8. Is it quick-detach?
No, this version is flip-to-side, not quick-detach.
9. What is it best paired with?
Usually magnifiers behind red dots or compact secondary optics setups.
10. Why choose steel instead of aluminum?
Steel is chosen for maximum durability and rigidity, especially for recoil-heavy or hard-use setups.

Please note: All clearance calculations are based on mounts with 0 MOA. While MOA can be factored in, actual clearance may vary due to variables that can't always be accurately calculated. If you're considering an MOA mount and are unsure about the required height, we recommend contacting our sales team directly.
Measure the outermost diameter of your scope’s objective bell (including any flare).
Measure the thickness of any scope cover if used. If none, leave as 0.
Measure from the top of the rail to the highest point of the barrel.
We add a little extra clearance to account for real-world variation. Default is +1 mm.
Enter your measurements above to calculate the lowest ring height (base-to-centre) you can realistically use.
(A + 2×B) / 2 − C + TWhere A = objective outer diameter, B = cover thickness, C = rail-to-barrel clearance, T = tolerance.
