The Gen 2 models feature upgraded optical coatings for improved light transmission, contrast, and clarity. Mechanically, they introduce redesigned, lower-profile turrets with crisper, more distinct tactile clicks, and slightly updated reticle options, all while maintaining the legendary "bombproof" reliability of the original line.

2. Why should I choose a fixed-power scope over a variable-power scope?

Fixed-power scopes offer three major advantages: mechanical simplicity (fewer moving parts to break under heavy recoil), optical clarity (fewer glass elements mean better light transmission at a lower price point), and consistently accurate reticle subtensions. Because it is a Second Focal Plane (SFP) scope, your reticle's holdovers are always 100% accurate because the magnification never changes.

3. What is the difference between the MOA and MQ models?

It comes down to your preferred system of measurement:

MOA models use Minute of Angle adjustments (usually 1/4 MOA per click), which is ideal for traditional shooters who prefer thinking in inches (e.g., 1 inch at 100 yards).
MQ (Mil-Quad) models use Milliradians (0.1 MRAD per click). The Mil-Quad reticle uses diamond shapes for highly precise holdovers and windage reads, which is favored by modern tactical and long-range precision shooters.

5. What size scope rings do I need to mount an SWFA SS scope?

All SWFA SS fixed-power scopes feature a heavy-duty 30mm main tube. You will need high-quality 30mm scope rings. The height of the rings (low, medium, or high) will depend on your specific rifle action and barrel profile, though the 42mm objective lens generally allows for medium or low mounting on most platforms.

6. Are these scopes rated for heavy recoil or spring-piston air rifles?

Absolutely. The SWFA SS line was originally designed to meet military contracts and is famous for its ruggedness. They are fully rated for heavy-recoil calibers (like .300 Win Mag and .50 BMG) as well as the unique, harsh bi-directional recoil of magnum spring-piston air rifles.

8. Are the turrets resettable to zero?

We use DPD , RoyalMail, TNT and UPS courier services for all our orders whether dispatching to the UK or International. As soon as your order has been dispatched you will receive an email with your unique tracking number. We are unable to add delivery notes to your order regarding safe spaces or neighbour deliveries. If you require this service it can be arranged directly with the courier once the parcel is in their network.

IN-STORE ITEMS

These are items that we have in-stock and will be sent out for delivery as soon as possible. We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days, but during busy periods dispatch may be delayed by a day or so. These are usually items that are going to be out-of-stock for a number of weeks or are in short supply. By purchasing a Pre-Order Item you are in effect paying a deposit for your goods. In addition to the above information If your delivery address is outside of the UK you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. You should note that customs policies vary widely from country to country.
