The RCBS Model M1000 Mechanical Scale is designed to deliver reliable and precise powder measurement for reloaders who demand consistency. Built with a 1,000‑grain capacity and ±0.1‑grain accuracy, this scale provides the precision required for careful load development and safe ammunition reloading. Its mechanical design offers dependable performance without the need for electronics, making it a practical choice for both experienced and new reloaders.
For ease of use, the scale supports right‑ or left‑handed operation, ensuring comfortable handling for any user. A metal tip‑proof pan makes powder handling simple and secure during weighing, helping maintain a smooth and efficient reloading workflow.
The scale also incorporates magnetic damping, allowing the beam to settle quickly for fast, clear readings while maintaining maintenance‑free movement. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty, the RCBS Model M1000 Mechanical Scale reflects the long‑standing commitment of RCBS to producing dependable, high‑quality reloading equipment trusted by shooters since 1943.

1. What is the RCBS M1000 Mechanical Scale used for?
It’s a precision beam scale used for weighing powder charges, bullets, and components during ammunition reloading.
2. How accurate is the M1000 scale?
It offers ±0.1 grain accuracy, making it suitable for precise handloading work.
3. What is its maximum capacity?
It can measure up to 1,000 grains, covering virtually all reloading powder charge ranges.
4. Does it require batteries or power?
No—it's a fully mechanical beam scale, so it works without electricity or batteries.
5. What is magnetic damping?
It’s a system that helps the beam settle quickly, reducing oscillation so you get faster, stable readings.
6. Is it suitable for left- and right-handed users?
Yes, it’s designed for ambidextrous use so either hand orientation works comfortably.
7. What makes it different from digital scales?
It doesn’t drift, doesn’t need calibration batteries, and isn’t affected by electronic interference—just manual, consistent measurement.
8. Is it good for beginners?
