FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION(S)

1. What is the difference between the MIL-C, MIL-XT, and MIL-R reticles on Nightforce ATACR scopes? While all three are milliradian (MRAD) based reticles, they cater to different shooting preferences. The MIL-R provides a clean, precise crosshair with minimalist 0.5 and 1.0 MRAD scale marks. The MIL-C offers a more detailed grid layout featuring 0.2 MRAD subtensions and an open-center dot for maximum target visibility. The MIL-XT is a modern "Christmas tree" style tactical grid designed for rapid windage and elevation holdovers without needing to dial your turrets.

2. What is the difference between the MRAD reticles and the MOAR reticle? The MIL-C, MIL-XT, and MIL-R reticles utilize Milliradians (MRAD), where 1 click equals 0.1 MRAD (approximately 1 cm at 100 meters). The MOAR reticle utilizes Minutes of Angle (MOA), a standard measurement where 1 click typically equals 1/4 MOA (approximately 1/4 inch at 100 yards). Choose the reticle style that matches the system you or your shooting partners prefer to think in.

3. Why should I choose a First Focal Plane (FFP / F1) scope like the ATACR over a Second Focal Plane (SFP)? In Nightforce F1 (First Focal Plane) riflescopes, the reticle scales proportionally as you adjust magnification. This means your reticle markings, subtensions, and holdovers remain perfectly accurate at any magnification setting. This is critical for tactical and precision rifle shooting where fast target range estimation and holdovers are required under pressure.

4. What are the main benefits of the Nightforce ZeroStop system? The ZeroStop technology allows you to set a solid, mechanical stopping point at your exact rifle zero. After dialing your turrets upward for a long-distance shot, you can rapidly twist the elevation turret back down in the dark or while wearing gloves, and it will stop precisely at your zero position without you having to manually count clicks or look at the markings.

5. Is the ATACR 4-16x42 or the 5-25x56 a better fit for my precision rifle? The ATACR 4-16x42 F1 features a compact profile and lighter weight, making it highly optimized for gas guns, semi-automatic tactical rifles, and mobile hunting configurations where weight matters. The ATACR 5-25x56 F1 is the ultimate multi-role option for bolt-action precision rifles, offering a larger 56mm objective lens for superior light gathering in low-light environments and a higher magnification ceiling for standard long-range target engagement.

6. What makes the ATACR 7-35x56 ED F1 unique in the lineup? The ATACR 7-35x56 F1 is the ultimate long-range tool, offering an incredibly wide 5x to 35x magnification range combined with an unmatched field of view across that entire spectrum. Featuring ED glass to eliminate color fringing at extreme magnification, it provides 100 MOA / 29 MRAD of total internal elevation travel, making it perfect for Extreme Long Range (ELR) shooting.

7. Are Nightforce ATACR scopes durable enough for harsh field environments? Absolutely. The ATACR line is built to military-grade specifications. Every scope features a heavy-walled, aircraft-grade aluminum main tube, scratch-resistant multi-coated lenses, and completely waterproof and fog-proof sealing. They are thoroughly impact-tested to withstand heavy recoil, drop impacts, and the most brutal field conditions imaginable.
