1. Will this slip accommodate a rifle with a scope and bipod attached?
Yes. The Protector 1 is specifically designed with a deep profile to accommodate modern stalking rifles fitted with large objective scopes and mounted bipods, ensuring you don’t have to strip down your gear before heading into the field
2. How does the "VP90" pouch work?
The slip features a dedicated internal pocket designed to hold a Napier VP90 vapour corrosion inhibitor. This pouch slowly releases a protective vapour that coats the metalwork of your rifle, helping to prevent rust and corrosion even if the rifle was put away slightly damp after a hunt.
3. Is the material suitable for heavy rain?
The slip is constructed from NATEX, a heavy-duty, waterproof material. While no soft slip should be used for long-term submersion, it is designed to withstand the typical wet conditions and muddy ground encountered during stalking.
4. Can I carry this over long distances comfortably?
Yes. Unlike basic slips that only offer a simple handle, this model includes a fully adjustable, colour coordinated shoulder strap. The padding is designed to distribute weight effectively, making it easier to carry your rifle while navigating difficult terrain or dragging a carcass.
5. What kind of protection does the interior provide for my stock?
The interior is lined with a "Syn-Fleece" material. This is a synthetic fleece bonded to the outer shell that provides a soft, non-abrasive surface to protect polished wooden stocks or delicate finishes from scratches during transport.
6. Is the barrel end reinforced?
Yes. To prevent the muzzle or the weight of the rifle from wearing through the bottom of the bag, the Protector 1 features a reinforced barrel end cap. This also includes a strong polypropylene hanging loop for easy storage when not in use.
7. Does it have storage for my firearms license?
The slip includes an extra large external zip pocket. This is specifically sized to hold a standard UK firearms license, as well as other small essentials like cleaning cloths or spare ammunition.
8. How should I clean the slip if it gets muddy?
The NATEX exterior can be wiped down with a damp cloth and mild soap. It is recommended to avoid fully submerging or machine washing the slip, as this can strip the protective coatings from the internal fleece lining. Always allow it to air dry naturally away from direct heat.

We use DPD , RoyalMail, TNT and UPS courier services for all our orders whether dispatching to the UK or International. As soon as your order has been dispatched you will receive an email with your unique tracking number. We are unable to add delivery notes to your order regarding safe spaces or neighbour deliveries. If you require this service it can be arranged directly with the courier once the parcel is in their network.
IN-STORE ITEMS
These are items that we have in-stock and will be sent out for delivery as soon as possible. We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days, but during busy periods dispatch may be delayed by a day or so. PRE-ORDER ITEMS
These are usually items that are going to be out-of-stock for a number of weeks or are in short supply. By purchasing a Pre-Order Item you are in effect paying a deposit for your goods. As soon as the item is back in stock yours will be dispatched within 24 hours where possible. Please see individual product pages for current back-in-stock dates. In rare occasions, these dates can be changed by the manufacturers so we recommend staying in contact with Optics Warehouse depending on the product lead time.
INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY & TAXES
In addition to the above information If your delivery address is outside of the UK you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. You should note that customs policies vary widely from country to country. Optics Warehouse advises each customer to contact their local customs office for further information if they are in any way unsure of local duties or liabilities. Cross border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities which means some packages may be opened and re-sealed.

- Please be advised that we have now introduced DPD Pins to all DPD orders from Optics Warehouse.
- If your shipment is being sent from Optics Warehouse via DPD you will be sent a Pin Code that must be shown to the courier upon delivery.
- The pincode is sent VIA email & TEXT message. A valid email address and mobile number must be provided at checkout. Emails will be sent from "Riviera House 3PL" - if you do not receive this email please check your junk or spam folders.
- Please note that if you do not display your pin code to the courier driver upon delivery, you will not be able to have your item and you may need to schedule another delivery date to show a valid pin.
