Magne-Tech 3x Magnetic Receiver for Locking Scope Ring Part A Base Only (Male)
The Magne-Tech 3x Magnetic Receiver (Part A Base Only) is the essential foundation for a truly "multi-gun" lifestyle. By installing this low-profile male receiver base on every Picatinny-railed rifle in your collection, you create a universal docking station for all your Magne-Tech-equipped optics. Featuring high-strength rare-earth magnets rated at over 15 lbs of retention and a dual-redundant locking system, this base ensures your gear is secure even in the most demanding field conditions. It’s the "brain" of the Magne-Tech system, allowing you to zero a scope once and move it between different platforms with total confidence in your point of impact. - George
The Magne-Tech 3x Magnetic Receiver for Locking Scope Ring Part A Base Only (Male) from Magne-Tech is engineered to deliver secure, repeatable optic mounting across multiple rifles. Designed to pair with Magne-Tech Magnetic Ring Mounts or other compatible female accessories, this base features a patented magnetic mounting system combined with a dual-redundant locking mechanism to guard against inadvertent detachment under recoil or hard use.
Utilising high-strength rare-earth magnets, each rated at over 15 lbs, the mount allows users to zero a scope or accessory once and confidently transfer it between platforms. Simply remove, store and reattach without concern, as the system provides a return-to-zero performance within 0.25 MOA, ensuring consistent and repeatable accuracy.
Machined from 7075-T6 aluminium alloy and finished with MIL-A-8625 Type III hard coat anodising, this rugged Picatinny rail mount offers an optimised balance of strength, durability and reduced weight. Built for demanding tactical, competition and field applications, it provides a robust and versatile foundation for modern optic setups.

1. How reliable is the "Return-to-Zero" when swapping optics? Magne-Tech systems are engineered for surgical precision, offering a guaranteed return-to-zero within 0.25 MOA. Because the system uses three high-strength magnetic contact points to guide the mount into a consistent, repeatable position, you can swap between a day scope and a thermal unit (or between different rifles) without the need for a trip to the range to re-zero.
2. Will the magnets hold up under heavy recoil from large caliber rifles? Absolutely. While the magnets provide the initial "snap" and alignment, the system features a patented dual-redundant locking mechanism. The rare-earth magnets offer over 15 lbs of retention on their own, but the mechanical locks ensure the optic remains rock-solid even under the violent recoil of magnum calibers or during rugged tactical maneuvers.
3. What is the difference between "Part A" and "Part B"? Think of it as a plug and a socket:
-
Part A (Male/Receiver): This is the base that stays permanently attached to your rifle's Picatinny rail.
-
Part B (Female/Ring Mount): This is the ring set that stays attached to your scope tube (available in 1", 30mm, or 34mm).
-
To use the system, you need at least one of each. If you have one rifle but three different scopes, you would buy one Part A and three Part B mounts.
4. Are these mounts heavy? I’m worried about adding bulk to my setup. Despite their strength, Magne-Tech mounts are surprisingly lightweight. They are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum—the same high-grade alloy used in aircraft and high-end receivers. This provides the durability of steel at a fraction of the weight, and the MIL-A-8625 Type III hard coat anodized finish ensures they are scratch and corrosion-resistant.
5. Can I use a 30mm "Part B" ring with a 34mm "Part A" receiver? Yes! One of the best features of this system is its universal compatibility. As long as you are using the 38.5mm height series, the Part A receiver base is the same across the board. You can swap a 1" scope, a 30mm scope, and a 34mm scope onto the exact same Part A base on your rifle without any compatibility issues.

Please note: All clearance calculations are based on mounts with 0 MOA. While MOA can be factored in, actual clearance may vary due to variables that can't always be accurately calculated. If you're considering an MOA mount and are unsure about the required height, we recommend contacting our sales team directly.
Measure the outermost diameter of your scope’s objective bell (including any flare).
Measure the thickness of any scope cover if used. If none, leave as 0.
Measure from the top of the rail to the highest point of the barrel.
We add a little extra clearance to account for real-world variation. Default is +1 mm.
Enter your measurements above to calculate the lowest ring height (base-to-centre) you can realistically use.
(A + 2×B) / 2 − C + TWhere A = objective outer diameter, B = cover thickness, C = rail-to-barrel clearance, T = tolerance.
