Cheap kit costs you more in the long run when seams split or fabric wears thin under your gear. Helikon-Tex engineered the MCDU Combat Shirt to be a true workhorse. By splitting the design between a soft, highly breathable body and rugged, rip resistant sleeves, they’ve created a shirt that moves with you while protecting against harsh environments. It’s an investment in comfort that keeps you focused on the task at hand, not your clothing.

DESCRIPTION

The Helikon-Tex MCDU Combat Shirt in Coyote (Size XL/Regular) is a high-performance combat shirt designed for maximum mobility and comfort when worn with plate carriers and load-bearing equipment. Combining combat-proven NyCo Ripstop sleeves with a lightweight TOPCOOL torso, it delivers an ideal balance of durability, breathability and moisture management for demanding operational environments.

The durable NyCo Ripstop fabric offers excellent resistance to abrasion and tearing, while the Ripstop weave helps prevent damage from spreading. The TOPCOOL polyester torso efficiently wicks moisture away from the skin and promotes rapid evaporation, helping to maintain comfort and stable body temperature during intense activity.

Built for tactical performance, the shirt features a stand-up collar with a front zip and chin guard, reinforced elbows, adjustable hook-and-loop cuffs and two zippered arm pockets for secure storage. Double hook-and-loop panels on each sleeve provide space for patches and identification, while YKK zippers throughout ensure reliable operation in the field. Ideal for military, law enforcement and tactical training applications, the MCDU Combat Shirt is engineered for durability, comfort and unrestricted movement.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION(S)

Is this shirt suitable for the UK climate?

Yes. The breathable TopCool torso keeps you dry when active in mild weather, while the durable NyCo Ripstop sleeves handle rough terrain. In colder months, it works perfectly as a high performance base layer under a jacket or fleece.

Can it be comfortably worn under body armour or a chest rig?

Absolutely. The torso fabric is lightweight, smooth, and completely free of buttons, zips, or thick seams to prevent uncomfortable chafing and pressure points under heavy gear or rucksacks.

Are elbow pads included with the shirt?

No, padding inserts are not included. However, the shirt features reinforced forearm pockets designed to securely hold Helikon-Tex protective foam inserts or similar aftermarket pads.

How is the sizing for UK buyers?

As a European brand, Helikon-Tex offers a more tailored, athletic fit compared to baggier US tactical brands. The "Regular" cut ensures excellent mobility without leaving excess fabric to bunch up under your gear.

Are the pockets accessible when wearing tactical gear?

Yes. The two zipped pockets are located high on the upper biceps, ensuring they remain fully accessible even while wearing a plate carrier, chest rig, or load bearing vest.

Does it have panels for attaching patches?

Yes. Both upper sleeves feature large loop (Velcro) panels, making it easy to attach ID patches, unit insignia, or morale patches.
