Night Vision
Night vision units come in a few different designs:
‘Add on units’:
These are connected to the front or back of the scope and use the scopes original reticle and magnification, these work best on scopes that do not have advanced coatings on the lenses as these stop the Infrared from being detected by the unit. Large diameter objective lenses are preferred for greater light gathering giving a better sight picture to ease detection and dispatch of your quarry.
Digital Unit:
These are designed to be used as a standalone scope, there have all the features of a standard scope built into the unit, units like the ATN are designed as a day/night scope so you are not restricted once fitting to only being able to use at night, this also helps when zeroing and setting up your aim points.
Tubed Units:
These are the bust quality of night vision optics, however they are very delicate to light, if you turn it on in daylight you will damage the tube causing the quality to rapidly deteriorate.
