The Sensible choice for Field Target

For a long while now the Nikko Stirling Diamond 10-50x60 was the ‘go-to’ Field Target scope. This brought top-quality manufacturing combined with Japanese glass for a price point much lower than it's competitors.

Falcon has now brought a contender to the table - the X503 10-50x60.

So what separates Falcon from the rest?

One of the most important features is the reticle.

For me the Falcon X503 gives a strong compromise of reticle weight (thickness) making it easy to spot in dark woodland settings whilst still being fine enough to be competitive at the top of Benchrest competitions. This also has ample amounts of aim points while not being intrusive or overwhelming to the image. The only drawback I can see with this scope is the lack of illuminated reticle. However, this is something that I rarely use.

The X503 boasts a selection of different models: from the basic scope to the option of including a 125mm black sidewheel or 130mm polished silver Jon Harris sidewheel. All these models include a sunshade and flip-up covers.

The X503 is a very stable scope in temperature and very snappy on the parallax, providing quick and precise range finding capabilities.

With all these points in mind, this would be my scope of choice if I was not using my Delta Styker 5-50x56.
