QUICK FIRE REVIEW: HIKMICRO Falcon FH35 35mm 384x288 12µm 20mk Hand Held Thermal Imager Monocular

FIRST THOUGHTS

My primary use for the new HIKMICRO Falcon FH35 is spotting wildlife while walking my dogs' early mornings. So far, I’ve found the HIK to be very user friendly and easy to get to grips with.

CLARITY

When walking through woodland or open fields the clarity is excellent and even in quite dense undergrowth you can pick up smaller animals such as rabbits and mice.

ERGONOMIC

The size of the unit is particularly good. I do not have very big hands but the design and location of the controls make them easy to reach comfortably and once you have used the unit a few times they are easily manageable in the dark.

COMPARISON

Comparing the unit to the HIK LH19 Pro, which I found excellent to use and easier to fit into your pocket, the advantage with the Falcon FH35 is performance and clarity. It is definitely the next step up without a big price jump and is still not oversized for my needs.

USEFUL FEATURES

The lanyard is very practical, perfect for it to be around my neck and the unit is easy to put onto standby when I am not spotting.

I have also discovered the HIKMICRO App which is amazing and so easy to use. This enables me to view the footage I have taken on a daily basis and download onto my phone within minutes.
