Everyone has their own method of how to Zero their Thermal Weapon Scope because let's face it, it’s not the easiest of tasks.

So, I am going to share a few tried and tested methods that I think works best.

TIN FOIL

This is the method I have found most effective.

The best way to go about it is to have an A4 sheet size of Tin Foil on your target and then stick a non-reflective target in the middle.

That way you can see the heat reflected from the Tin Foil show up and see a clear blank spot in the middle to zero to.

HEATING A NAIL

I have seen a few people try this method and it looks quite effective.

It means you can be pinpoint accurate when you come to using the same point of aim and can accurately zero the sight.

A HEATED APPLE OR A HOT WATER IN A TIN CAN

Yes, as unorthodox as both sound, an apple left heated by the car bonnet for 10 minutes or hot water in a tin can is a fun way of carrying out the zero.

I tend to use this one for a quick zero check by filling an old bean tin with hot water or putting an apple in front of my backstop.

If I feel that the Rifle Scope is slightly out, then I will carry out this quick test to double-check.

It's certainly very entertaining watching an Apple explode through the scope and satisfies me knowing that the scope is still bang-on!
