- American Defence Vertical Ring Set for ADM Recon or Scout Style Mounts - 40mm Black
1. What is the ADM 40mm Vertical Ring Set?
The American Defense 40mm Vertical Ring Set is a replacement ring kit designed for ADM Recon and Scout-style scope mounts. It lets you mount 40mm tube optics or swap your existing ring size without replacing the whole mount.
2. What is it used for?
It’s used to adapt or replace the scope rings on an ADM Recon or Scout QD base. This is especially useful if you’re changing optics but want to keep your existing ADM mount system.
3. Which ADM mounts is it compatible with?
It is compatible with ADM Recon and ADM Scout series mounts, making it a direct fit for those modular mounting systems.
4. What tube size does this version fit?
This version is designed for 40mm scope tubes, which are common in high-end precision and long-range rifle optics.
5. What is it made from?
The rings are precision-machined from 6061-T6 aluminium, offering a strong but lightweight construction suitable for repeated recoil use.
6. What finish does it have?
It uses a Type III hardcoat anodized finish in black, which helps protect against corrosion, scratches, and general field wear.
7. Does it include the full mount?
No. This is only the vertical ring set. You still need a compatible ADM Recon or Scout base to complete the mounting system.
8. Is it strong enough for heavy recoil rifles?
Yes. ADM rings are designed for magnum and precision rifle use, with a rigid design intended to maintain zero under recoil.
9. Can I swap between different ring sizes?
Yes. One of the main advantages of the ADM system is that you can swap ring sizes (e.g. 30mm, 34mm, 35mm, 40mm) without replacing the entire mount.
10. Why would someone choose this over a full new mount?
Most people buy this when they change optics but want to keep their existing ADM base. It’s a cost-effective way to reconfigure your setup without starting from scratch.
Our aim is to ensure that your order arrives with you as soon as possible and in the safest, most cost-effective means.

Please note: All clearance calculations are based on mounts with 0 MOA. While MOA can be factored in, actual clearance may vary due to variables that can't always be accurately calculated. If you're considering an MOA mount and are unsure about the required height, we recommend contacting our sales team directly.
Measure the outermost diameter of your scope’s objective bell (including any flare).
Measure the thickness of any scope cover if used. If none, leave as 0.
Measure from the top of the rail to the highest point of the barrel.
We add a little extra clearance to account for real-world variation. Default is +1 mm.
Enter your measurements above to calculate the lowest ring height (base-to-centre) you can realistically use.
(A + 2×B) / 2 − C + TWhere A = objective outer diameter, B = cover thickness, C = rail-to-barrel clearance, T = tolerance.
