What is the difference between 16mm & 12mm on a Pard / Sytong

Rear Add-On Lens Focal Lengths

The 12mm is the focal length of the lens in the camera of the rear add-on. A 12mm lens equals a lower magnification and a wider field of view. This pairs with lower power scopes such as a 3–12x.

The 16mm lens provides a higher base magnification with a narrower field of view. This pairs well with higher magnification scopes such as 6–12x.

Exact base magnification will need to be checked in each manufacturer’s specifications. For most users, either specification will work with both scopes, though the built-in digital zoom may need to be used to adjust the field of view for proper pairing.

  • 12mm: better for low magnification scopes (e.g., 3–12x)
  • 16mm: better for high magnification scopes (e.g., 6–24x)
