Rifle scope lens caps are protective covers designed to safeguard the lenses of a rifle scope from damage, dirt, and the elements. They are essential for maintaining the clarity and functionality of the scope.

Benefits of Rifle Scope Lens Caps

  1. Lens Protection: Lens caps protect the scope's lenses from dust, dirt, moisture, and scratches. This keeps the lenses clean and prevents damage that could impair visibility or clarity.

  2. Weather Resistance: Lens caps help protect against rain, snow, and fog, which can obstruct your view through the scope. They ensure that you have a clear, dry lens when you’re ready to shoot.

  3. Increased Longevity: By keeping the lenses clean and free from damage, lens caps can help extend the lifespan of your rifle scope and maintain optimal performance over time.

  4. Prevents Glare: In some cases, lens caps can reduce lens flare or glare by keeping the lens covered until you're ready to take a shot. This is especially useful in bright conditions.

Types of Rifle Scope Lens Caps

Flip-Up Lens Caps: Fit over the outside of the ocular and objective. Can be quickly flipped open with a hinge mechanism. Many have spring-loaded features, so the caps can be opened with one hand or even by pressing a button.

Some such as the Vector Eye E10 allow for fitting of dope discs inside the ocular cap where you can put handy ballistic data notes.

When buying flip up caps make sure you measure your scope outer case diameter and ensure the cap(s) you get accommodate the measurement. Most caps have good fitting flexibility.

Screw in lens caps: Strong and durable, made from metal. Tend to be scope manufacturer and often model specific. Hawke are a good example. Check the cap is compatible with your scope. If your exact model is not listed then 99% will not fit. Ask us!

Other types are elasticated and bikini types. Often supplied with a scope and providing basic protection when the scope is not in use.
