Gamo traces its roots to 1889, when Antonio Casas S.A. produced lead products in Barcelona. By 1950 the firm, now led by Antonio Casas Serra, had pivoted to precision air-gun pellets, and in 1955 it launched Industrias El Gamo S.A. The first Gamo-branded air rifles appeared in 1961 and were exporting across Europe by 1963; a global dealer network followed in the 1970s, with Gamo USA formed in 1995. Successive private-equity investments in 2007 and 2013, plus the 2016 acquisition of Daisy Outdoor Products, deepened its footprint. Today the company is Europe’s largest air-gun maker and the world’s leading producer of air-gun pellets, with shooters in more than 50 countries relying on its rifles, pistols, optics, and ammunition.

Relentless quality control underpins this reach. Gamo designs and machines every critical metal component in-house, and mills its walnut and beech stocks on CNC equipment. Each rifle is inspected every one to two hours during production; sample guns face 10,000-shot “torture tests” before final checks for power, accuracy, and finish.
