Pulsar Axion KEY XM30 Thermal Monocular
The Pulsar Axion Key XM30 is the follow on from the old Pulsar Quantum lite designed to be an entry level yet quality thermal imager that providers most users all they need in terms of a thermal imager.
The Pulsar Axion Key XM30 an ultra-compact, lightweight, handheld thermal imaging monocular, that is available in three models; Key XM30, XM30 and XM38.
With detection ranges of up to 1200m and native magnification of up to 2.5x with optimal 4x digital zoom, depending on the model.
The Pulsar Axion Key XM30 has many new and important features, first and foremost is its sensor. The Pulsar Axion Key XM30 Thermal Imaging Monocular uses a new 320×240 thermal sensor with a 12µm pixel pitch, which also helps to reduce overall unit size.
This reduction in pixel pitch will result in images having smoother edges, more detailed thermal mapping and offer a greater ability to recognise and identify objects over an equivalent sized sensor with a 17µm pixel pitch.
The Pulsar Axion Key XM30 is perfectly suited to outdoor conditions, with a robust magnesium bodyshell, an IPX7 protection rating (fully waterproof), 960×720 LCOS (Key models) and 1024×768 AMOLED (Non-Key models) HD micro-displays and can perform in both hot & freezing temperatures.
The Pulsar Axion Key XM30 comes equipped with its own internal stadiametric rangefinder, which helps aid observers in estimating target distances with the height of known objects. Additionally, Axion units have up to eight colour palettes to help enhance observation in varying conditions.
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode, upon activation, displays a second image with magnification in the top part of the Axion’s display screen. This small image helps to zoom in on a target while retaining the rest of the field of view, maximising situational awareness.
(Please Note: Stream Vision & WiFi functionality is only available to non-key models.)
In addition to this, Non-Key models feature an on-board photo & video recorder, which can save footage directly to the devices 16GB internal memory, allowing users to capture their experiences easily.
The Pulsar Axion Key XM30 has an instant start-up and an instant ‘display-off’ mode, which helps to save energy and prolong the operation time of the unit and its dedicated B-Pack Mini Power System.
The APS Battery Pack system offers an ultra-lightweight, quick-change power option that provides up to 4 hours of operating time to Axion units. APS Battery Packs can be charged by USB through its intended unit or an APS Battery Charger (Which fits two APS Battery Packs).
Small Pocket-sized Format
Designed to fit perfectly in one hand or a pocket of a standard size, Axion ensures comfortable grip position and easy carrying. Compact size of thermal imager makes it an optimal portable unit for scouting and spotting.
Compact size, user-friendly controls and ergonomic design ensure the highest level of comfort and usability
Long Detection Range
Powerful objective lens in combination with a 12 µm professional grade thermal imaging sensor provides exceptional detection capabilities. A standard 1,8 m (6 ft) tall object can be detected at a 1700 m (1800 yds) distance in complete darkness.
12 µm Thermal Imaging Sensor
New thermal imaging sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch helps to achieve higher optic magnification and observation distance and simultaneously helps to make the unit more compact.
Rugged Magnesium Alloy Housing
Housing made from light weight magnesium alloy ensures high structural rigidity and ruggedness while retaining small weight and ergonomics.
Video and Still-Photo Recording
The built-in video recorder is a great asset when it comes to filming or taking photos of once-in-a-lifetime experiences. One press of the REC button captures footage that can be shared easily with colleagues, friends and family. 16 Gb of internal memory provide many hours of recorded video and tons of photos.
Stream Vision App Supported
Built in Wi-Fi module provides connectivity of Axion with Android or iOS smartphones or tablets. The smartphone and thermal imager combination offers a set of unique features such as direct image streaming, downloading and sharing recorded files, firmware update and many other.
B-Pack Mini Power System
Miniature power elements used in Axion models provide sufficient operation time and can be quickly replaced. B-Pack mini batteries can be quickly charged either with included charger station or in the unit connected to USB.
High Optic Magnification
Axion offers the highest magnification in the class of compact thermal imagers. Considerable optic magnification can be increased by means of digital zoom to provide the best identification of observed objects.
Thanks to the new revolutionary electronics unit can be started almost instantly. Quick start-up helps to save energy and thus prolongs time of operation. The unit can be kept in a pocket and then rapidly activated when the right time comes.
Key models come with LCOS microdisplay
IPX7 Waterproof Rated
IPX7 waterproof-rated for protection from heavy rainfall, snow or other precipitation. The Axion is designed to run flawlessly, even after submersion in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
Small weight becomes important when outdoor trip is long and each piece of equipment adds to a total load that has to be carried on the back. Axion weighs around 300 grams not more than a regular rangefinder unit but offers far more significant capabilities.
Picture in Picture Function
Upon activation Picture in Picture function displays second small image with magnification in the top part of the screen. Small image helps to zoom in on a target while retaining the rest of the field of view visible.
